2. Fuse a Lollipop stick down the center of each pieced Lollipop background rectangle 4” × 82”. Secure using an invisible hem stitch and trim the stick flush with the top and bottom of the column, if needed.

3. Trace the Lollipop Pattern (http://tinyurl.com/10927-patterns) onto the smooth side of the paper-backed fusible web 100 times. Cut out extra fusible web from the center of each circle so the quilt top won’t be stiff. Fuse the circles onto assorted extra fat quarter fabric. Cut out the circles on the drawn line.

4. Following the assembly diagram, arrange 25 circles evenly down each Lollipop column, centered on the Lollipop sticks. Fuse the circle in the middle of the column first and work your way toward the ends, placing 12 circles on either side of the center circle, 1½” apart. Refer to Fusible Appliqué (page 63) to secure the circles to the column, using a blanket or zigzag stitch.

5. Trim the Lollipop columns to rectangles 3½” × 80½”, centering the circle motifs.

Quilt Assembly

1. Following the assembly diagram, arrange the Dresden Plate blocks in 3 columns. Each column should be 2 blocks across and 10 blocks down. Join sets of 2 blocks into rows. Press the seams of the first row of each column to the right, the second to the left, and so on.

2. Join the rows to form 3 Slinky columns.

3. Following the assembly diagram, join the Slinky and Lollipop columns.

4. Join the top and bottom borders to the quilt top.
